Picture
Wenge is one of the darkest, yet grained woods we know of.  The wood is black with yellow grains running through it that are quite noticeable.  The wood is scarce enough that we use it only for veneer inlays and accents.  It can be stained, even with a very dark stain, and the grain remains quite visible.
